The project concerns the construction of a new watertight sewage holding tank at SKAEP, University of Western Macedonia, in Florina. The main objective of the proposed interventions is to upgrade the existing wastewater drainage network of the School of Social and Humanities Sciences, as well as to provide for the future School of Fine Arts, which is planned to be constructed within the same urban block. The internal wastewater drainage network of the buildings, which has already been constructed under a separate contract, will be connected to the Florina Municipal Water Supply and Sewerage Company (DEYA Florina) sewerage network, allowing the wastewater to be conveyed to the Florina Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). The watertight sewage holding tank will serve as an emergency facility, to be used whenever, for any reason, the external sewerage network is temporarily unable to operate.
